New Musicians Bio

New Innocenti Strings Musicians



Kelly Bohling: Kelly Bohling holds a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from KU. Her performance highlights include the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, Helianthus Contemporary Ensemble, and KU’s Collegium Musicum. She has also appeared as soloist with the Hot Springs Festival Orchestra. When Kelly is not performing, she is busy teaching, with a full violin studio in Lawrence and Kansas City.





Ellen O'Hayer: -Cellist Ellen O'Hayer received her Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance from the DePaul University School of Music in Chicago. She is a member of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, and has held section positions with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Quad City Symphony, as well as a principal position with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. Ellen is an active performer and teacher in the Kansas City/Lawrence area.









Violinist FangFang Li has an active career as a performer and educator. Ms. Li began violin studies at the age of 4. At age 14, she was accepted to Idyllwild Arts Academy in California to study with Todor Pelev. She attended the Aspen Music Festival with a fellowship in
2001. The same year, Ms. Li entered the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) as a full scholarship recipient to study with Kurt Sassmannshaus. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in violin performance in 2006 and 2008. As an accomplished violin teacher, Ms. Li has taught young and adult musicians for many years. She was a graduate teaching assistant at CCM, she was also on the violin faculty of the Starling Preparatory String Project and the Sassmannshaus Tradition program. With the Baur Quartet, Ms. Li has also served as faculty member at the Great Wall International Music Academy in Beijing and the Wyoming Center for the Arts in Ohio. Ms. Li recently moved to San Diego and looks forward to all the new adventures here!
Ms. Li frequently performs as a recitalist and chamber musician. As a member of the Baur Quartet, Li has taught and performed internationally. The Baur Quartet was named the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s first Fellowship String Quartet in Residence. They have played numerous concerts and held master classes at local schools throu
ghout the states.




Esther McMahon: Violinist Esther McMahon is an extremely seasoned and accomplished musician, at home in a wide variety of genres including classical, fiddle, pop, and rock. Esther has studied with Susanna Klein, Matt Combs, and most recently graduated from Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music under Professor Christian Teal. In 2008, she was invited with her string quartet to attend the Aix-en-Provence festival in France to perform and work with members of the Berlin Philharmonic. The following spring, Esther spent five months in Vienna, Austria studying with renowned soloist, Barbra Gorzynska. In addition to pursuing a career in classical music, Esther is quite adept in the recording studio. She has had the opportunity to work with many Nashville based artists including Jessica Campbell, Josiah Hawley, Molly Jewell, and Caitlin Nethery. Esther has also worked with several talented producers, including Ben Shive, Scott Hundley, and Nick Spezia



Emily Nelson: Cellist Emily Nelson's passion for the string quartet was cultivated at a young age, and has attended chamber music festivals every summer since the age of twelve. Taught by Felix Wang at Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music, Nelson has soloed with Idaho Falls
Symphony and the Oregon East Symphony, and has played with several other music groups across the Northwest. Her intensive training including a masterclass under famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, developed her ability to play a number of eclectic musical styles and has made Nelson an in-demand studio musician, leading to her recording with Nashville-based artists Young Republic, Elenowen, and Tom Schreck. An award-winning musician, Nelson was a finalist in the Tennessee Cello Workshop Concerto Competition and the recipient of the prestigious Jean Keller Heard Strings Prize while at Vanderbilt. Recently, Nelson traveled to Europe where she performed several concerts with the Ars Nova String Quartet and participated in the 2010 Vanderbilt Music Academie in France.
