Innocenti Strings Michigan

Recently appointed Innocenti Strings Principal Music coordinator:

DANIEL STACHYRA, Violinist Daniel Stachyra joined the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra in 2007. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, where he studied with Gregory Fulkerson. He also received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Oberlin College. As a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the New World Symphony, he worked with internationally renowned conductors and teachers.
For five seasons he performed with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in Little Rock. As a member of the Sturgis String Quartet, he performed regularly to sold-out audiences on the Arkansas Symphony chamber music concerts in the Clinton Presidential Center. With the Sturgis Quartet and other ensembles, he performed a wide range of chamber music by Bartok, Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Ives, Ginastera, Kernis, Mendelssohn, Piazzolla, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Webern, and others. As an ASO Arts Partner he created and performed quartet programs throughout Arkansas for schools, community venues, and hospitals, with commentary tailored to each audience.
Dan has also performed with the Toledo, Memphis, Flint, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, South Bend, and Elgin Symphonies, as well as the National Repertory Orchestra and Round Top summer festivals.
Dan teaches violin in Ann Arbor. As an educator, he has also led rehearsals and sectionals for the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestras, and was on the faculty of the Campamento Musical Juvenil, a youth music camp in Panama. In his travels, he has performed with groups in Brazil and Peru, including a concert he co-organized in the Cathedral of Ayacucho, Peru, which drew a standing-room only crowd. Dan enjoys travel and wilderness backpacking, and lives in Ann Arbor with his wife, Kairos and son, Emil.
